Technology is advancing so quickly. Just as you've become a master of email, you need to learn social media, now, are you ready for web cam technology?
There are not a lot of employers using this right now, but it is something worth talking about. Colleges are using it for their student recruitment too!
FIrst, why would an employer use web cam technology (Skype or Google Talk are the biggest right now)? They are free and save the recruiter time which saves money! Reason two: recordable so they can keep it on file if they chose.
Tim Tyrell-Smith wrote a post on web cam interviews and he lays out some great tips! You can see his post here: 10 Ways to Survive a web cam interview.
Netshare wrote a post: Smile you are on interview camera which also lists some basic advice.
Career Pro Talk also addresses the topic in his post: Treat phone interviews seriously (including iPhone facetime and and Skype screening.
All you need is a webcam. You can purchase one for under $50.
If you are looking for more info on Skype here's a link to their site. If you would like more information about Google Talk, you can follow this link.

Hi Hannah: I've been in search, recruiting, staffing for 15 years and FINALLY accepted the fact that paper resumes will be toast within the next couple of years (I hate getting old). There are so many people entering the video resume space - most have NO idea what they're doing and their product ends up hurting candidates. Check out TalentRooster.com - I started it to professionalize this space and help job seekers look as professional as possible. To date we have learned that a TR video will increase a candidates chance for hire by 30-50%! Employers love it and candidates are quickly getting out of the pile and on to the desktop. Enjoy your day!

As someone whose employment search is casting a broader and broader net, the ability to interview with companies in faraway cities and states on a shoestring budget is becoming ever more critical-- and this is a great way to do it at low cost, with all parties in their natural element too! Thanks for sharing this timely information Hannah!
