Yesterday I received a package in the mail from my friends at Amazon! I have been waiting for this box for a week and it finally arrived. Like a child on Christmas morning, I tore open the packaging and found inside my books! Literally, I was jumping up and down. (My family looked at me with confusion and disbelief).
This week I also received my magazine subscriptions. Now, my bedside table is stacked with material and I couldn't decide what I was going to read first. Which will have the biggest impact? Which will I enjoy most? Which will I be able to get through fastest?
I started with Linchpin by Seth Godin. 5 pages in, before I could no longer keep my eyes open, I can already say that this is a MUST READ for everyone. It should be required reading by college students, employed, unemployed, everyone!
What Godin is explaining is how our world is different today and what this means about how we view and perform the world we work in. It is empowering. It so nicely captures the big picture view of reality as we know it today.
Each of us needs to understand how we can contribute and make a difference. The rules are changing, so must we.
The other material I am looking forward to getting to:
Trust Agents by Chris Brogan
Drive by Daniel Pink
So what is on your bedside table? What are you reading?
@Ram: Good luck preparing for the PMP! Thanks for sharing your list...I am glad to have these recommendations on record! Thanks also for referencing your use of the library. Buying books isn't always in the family budget during times of unemployment!
@Betty: I love Veranda too! My mother in law used to give me that subscription. Love the photos and the comfort captured by southern hospitality! Oooh and it is always good to have a "fun" read going. I'll check out E. Lepins work. Thank you for sharing!
@Brandy: Thanks for your well wishes! I like your reading list, though honestly, I haven't heard of them. The titles sound great. I hope you benefit from reading them. I now have about 5 more books to add to my list, thanks to you all! Have a great week and thanks for commenting!

OK I'll put Linchpin on my TBR list and then pass it on to my nephew in college. Thanks for the recommendation. I just renewed my subscription to Vernada magazine as I don't want to miss an issue...it's my all time favorite. Currently, I'm finishing The Lost Symbol...it's a page burner. I've been looking for a a good book for our book club and unexpectedly came across a new author Evinda Lepins that I'm going to be following. She's passionate about her writing and writes chicklit fiction based upon her personal experiences. http://chicklitpower.com/
