OH, my gosh! I knew LinkedIn was a great tool, but this is amazing. How many of you have used the Search Companies function on LinkedIn?
In my search, I found over 4,000 within my 1st and 2nd degree contacts and over 900 companies listed in Rochester, NY. So what are you waiting for.
It is so simple.
- Click on Search by Companies
- Then, you can see on the right hand side of the screen the ability to filter or specify your search by location, company size, company industry, or companies with job postings (this isn't that important, really)
- Once you find a company listed, you will find all sorts of information about it. A brief description, number of employees, LinkedIn contacts within the company, ie. people for you to network with, recent promotions, career path (where people came from), average age, female/male ratio...good stuff.
- Begin connecting with people who work in these target companies. The names are provided to you. Of course, you'll want to make human contact, not just virtual contact.
