I knew as I was racing against the clock yesterday to publish the post, that I should include examples of the good resumes. Thank you so much to the reader who requested that I do so!
Here are the Top 5 Summaries that Caught My Attention
Truly, there are varying opinions about "good" resumes. Beauty in is the mind of the Beholder. Take what you can from these resumes. Also remember, that your resume is only a response to the job posting. It is not a stagnant document. You will customize it for every posting you respond to!
thank you, Hannah.

Ram:
Good question. It is not about using the phrases or words, but putting them in the right context. You want the reader to visualize you putting these things to use in their company. To say you are results oriented, without any qualifier or context, makes it difficult to believe. Additionally, I don't believe many company resume reviewers would be searching resumes by the key word "results oriented". What would they be searching for instead? improved operations, exceeded sales quota?
Summaries are a delicate balance. I would suggest in the paragraph portion of the summary you summarize industry experience, areas of job expertise (think key words). You can use bullets to dump some other key skills that will attract the reader. Using phrases like "managed cross functional teams" is generic. Try rephrasing to something like "structured communication between accounting and IT implementation groups".
As I write this, I think it all goes back to understanding exactly what the job posting is asking for and using the right experience to address their needs. Hope that helps! Thanks for asking! It isn't black and white, is it?

Hannah,
going over tips on your blog while 'm revamping a resume. Looking at this post and a similar titled one from previous day - http://hannahmorgan.typepad.com/hannah_morgan/2009/07/5-out-of-500-resumes-actually-told-me-something.html - it seems some of these were referred to worst phrases - Results oriented, proven experience, strengths / strongly, cross-functional teams, etc
I am not sure if I understand right - are these posts contradicting by any chance? or have i misunderstood the intents of those resumes?

Hannah,
Great post, I noticed that 5 of the 5 you chose have skills (areas of expertise) that back up their summary statements.
