There are multiple reasons why people stop looking for work. For your own security, never stop.
Here are some examples:
- Landed the dream job
- Enrolled in school or classes
- Found several good leads and want to wait to see what happens
- Had a super interview
- Have an interview lined up and only have time to prepare for that
- There's pending offer on the table
- Totally dissatisfied with current job
No matter where you are or what you are doing, carve out a piece of time weekly to pursue your next opportunity. That could be your next career step or it could be just fishing for something. Keep your lines in the water.
Looking could also mean continuing to meet new people, keeping your connections with recruiters, leaving your alerts on and active on the job boards, continuing to participate in groups and discussions.
Ram: In 2009 we are 100% responsible for managing our careers. No company has to take care of its people. The old addage, "take care of Number 1" means, we're in the driver's seat. Thanks, hope people get it!

Hi Hannah! I STRONGLY agree with this and don't think I stressed this enough during our class last night. You're retirement is farther off than you think. Semper Fidelis. You MUST adopt that Marine Corps Latin. :)
There was a gentlemen in your group last night that had two INTERVIEWS and had essentially STOPPED LOOKING.
WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Always vigilant. Always looking. Always talking. Always connecting.
Read it. Know it. Live it. :)
