I look forward to ready this each year. Sources of Hire 2008 Study done by CareerXroads. While it is a snapshot of how things went last year, it certainly paints a picture of how corporations with HR functions like to fill their openings.

As you look for employment, think about spending time in the areas with the greatest return on investment. That means:

meet people working in companies so you can be a referral
spend time identifying potential employers so you can find their corporate website.
down play the "boards"
